# Call record

A Call record is the kept record of one call: what was called, by which [Key](/callers/keys), through which [Interface](/interfaces), what it answered and cost.

## Parts
| Field | What it holds |
| --- | --- |
| `request` | The request id, as `X-Request-Id` carries it; a Batch item adds its place. |
| `at` | When the call was answered, in ISO 8601. |
| `ms` | How long the call took, in milliseconds. |
| `verb` | The operation that was called. |
| `face` | The Interface the call came through: `rest` for the API, `mcp` or `batch`; the field keeps the name it has on the wire. |
| `key` | A reference to the Key: `key_` and 24 hex digits of its SHA-256, or `anonymous`. |
| `customer` | The Customer who called, when the Key is entitled on the API. |
| `status` | The HTTP status the call answered. |
| `ok` | Whether the call answered a result. |
| `code` | The Problem code, when the call answered one. |
| `detail` | The Problem detail, when the call answered one. |
| `price` | What the call cost the caller, at the posted rate. |
| `upstream` | What serving the call cost upstream. |
| `currency` | The currency of the price and the upstream cost. |
| `input` | The input the call sent. |
| `batch` | For a Batch item: the Action id of its Batch. |
| `item` | For a Batch item: its place in the Batch. |

## Guarantees
- **Every call is kept.** Each call is a record that never expires, holding a digest of the [Key](/callers/keys) and never the Key.
